PhD Researcher, Publishing Studies
University of Stirling, UK
Sonali Misra has entered the fourth/write-up year of her PhD. She is researching the postcolonial impact of the business practices of British publishing – namely, the usage of Commonwealth rights by multinational corporations – on the Indian publishing industry, as well as on its writers and readers. Her primary research method has been interviewing elite participants (CEOs/MDs, Publishers, Sales Directors and Literary Agents) in the London and Delhi publishing landscapes.
This video, which she presented at an academic conference organised by the University of Stirling and the University of Melbourne in 2020, introduces her research topic.
